Tanja Bruckner and Steve Tierney work as a creative partnership. Their work confronts belief systems and reforms mindsets around gender, beauty, and the body by interchanging the traditional with the unexpected. Chrysalis consists of intimate photographs of Sydney model and friend Aidan Connolly. In this series, the artists ask questions about innocence, youth and manhood. They are interested in the anxiety and uncertainty of those years in which young people negotiate the difficult journey between childhood and adulthood.
